  1. You know what makes Sally even fucking worse? She was the personal maid for Yvonna for YEARS and it only took the guy 5 minutes to make her willing to turn traitor. I really can’t wait to watch her get violated and/or eaten by monsters.

  2. Did you hear that? That’s the sound of mocking laughter by hundreds of readers for a poster who was trying to defend an obviously sus character. Let’s face it the Schadenfreude is real.

  3. Truthseeker, you clearly have forgotten that Sally badmouthed Yvonne to Jeanne or at the very least made a statement that was intentionally misleading as a way of trying to cause trouble. If she was truly loyal to Yvonne she would be singing her praises. So yeah she’s totally sus.

  4. Now where is that person truthspeaker who keeps defending her? In the first place if someone were really looking out for u she shouldn’t have bad mouthed FL to the head maid

  5. Rukius so far is the closest to be the normal voice of reason in this story. Interesting how the story keeps on trying to make Sally look bad all the time. From a story perspective I really don’t like it since it has been forced upon us like this. I doubt she is a part of the demon worshippers though. An argument could be that she is working under the orders of Yvonne’s father, but unless she was promised large amounts of wealth, it makes little sense to choose that loser over somebody that was always close to her. Only thing that would explain that would be if Sally was an illegitimate child of Yvonne’s father though and a hald-sister.

  6. It is called the Soulless Duchess as a reference to a wife that is just there for appearances sake. However I have been wondering, especially with this revelation about Claude’s dreams, if perhaps she really did lose her soul?

In the first place, how was she able to travel back in time? Yes these kind of stories this is often glossed over or hanwaved away with “the kami did it”… but in this story we actually have two important things that have happened to before her time travel that isn’t just her desire to redo this part of her life. See not only did she contract with high level holy beasts, she conducted a terrible Mana experiment on her body. Now think of it this way… What if she didn’t really travel back in time but rather sent back her consciousness? In other words, her soul is still stuck in that other timeline! This might be why Claude can see her alternate future in his dreams.

Question is, if this is the case, does it mean that she can regain her lost soul or that she is doomed to always live like this homuncolous construct?

  7. The Baron on her father abused and used her so they are similar even if they did different things… But Sally being a bit pushy and trying to dress Yvonne in clothes that she doesn’t like for Yvonne’s own sake … how is this even remotely in any way the same as her coudi trying to control her for his own sake?

This just shows how messed up Yvonne is in her head. It is nothing wrong with other people trying to impose their will onto other people… This is what desire is.

Claude actually showcases this. The guy has not wished or desires for anything his entire life (or so the story suggest), however his desire to not only love but actually be loved in return by the person he loves, is squashed down by him. This is not healthy!

Forcing people against their will is not a good thing, but this is NOT the same as trying make get what you desire.

    Which brings me back to Sally;

Yes, if Sally had physically or psychologically tried to force Yvonne to do anything then would have belonged in that panel… but she didn’t! She tried to convince her mistress, but all Yvonne has to do was to order her or just sit down and explain things to her. Don’t forget that Yvonne has been a milksop all her life up until that moment so yes… Yvonne really did need for Sally to look out for her and help her.

Yvonne even asks Sally if she does t not believe in her as a Duchess… but is this something to blame Sally for? If your employee has acted like a wallflower all her life up until that point and you almost had to tie her sholaces for her… If she doesn’t recognize that you have changed, and more “greatly changed”, why do you see this as being her fault?

  8. Yvonne really is abit of of a b*tch. Sure as a servant Sally was out of line of you think about how a normal maid relationship is… However from what has been shown it is suggested that they had more of a sister type relationship.

Sally being the only one that Yvonne was able to rely on, now that there are tons of other people the Duchess, is now treated like a normal servant? With no explanation given?

While it is certainly rude, Sally just wanted to help her “sister” to look more sexy. Yet Yvonne has not confided any of her plans to Sally.

Sally even gave up her other job to help Yvonne and yet she is treated like this.

  9. The heroine is much better looking with her hair in a ponytail like this. It gives some of that “personality” that her appearance so far has been lacking.

  10. Ugh… That Duke. He might actually be a pretty bad Duke all things considered if he wastes money like that and forcibly purchases a private business that no doubt was never for sale.

  11. A woman’s worth should not be measured by her embroidery the heroine says, speaking from her heart and trying to defend Julia. Only when saying this she insulted Julia far worse than anyone else. If a woman’s worth can’t be measured by embroidery, then since this is Julia’s main talent… It is the same as saying that Julia and all her efforts are worthless.

  12. You can’t help but feel sorry for characters like Yvonne here. Sure, the heroine didn’t have a chance to practice embroidery much because she was using most of her free time to become a better summoner… But Yvonne spent all her life trying her best and working hard to become the best waifu.

The princess chose symbolism over quality as is her right, but that is still unfair to those that created the better embroideries. Not because they don’t win, but because losing makes it seem in the eyes of other people as if Yvonne’s embroidery was less good than the one that was picked.

Interesting though from a story perspective in this chapter it seems as if the author suddenly decided to change Yvonne from an antagonist into a secondary heroine. Look at the way her face is drawn softer and cuter and then look at her thoughts and compare this to how she was portrayed only a few chapters ago. It is interesting because it wasn’t done gradually but rather in haste. There was no real buildup to it or character development… just a of a sudden she changed into a heroine in this chapter.

  13. “If I were born as a woman everything would be better!”

Meanwhile the women he’s comparing himself to are someone who got used and taken advantage of for her summoning abilities and ability to give birth… and someone who has everything necessary to be in the emperors seat but can’t take that position bc she doesn’t have a dick 😒 maybe if this dude did more to become more independent, rather than constantly trying to find someone to leech off of, he wouldn’t be so lowly and miserable

  14. idk man! this was a little unfair, I think another one was more detailed and good, author let her win because she is the protaganist

  15. The Butler has something but decide not to ruin the lovey-dovey mood… and by the look of the envelope, it must be bad news… uh maybe because it’s red? hehhe

  16. He’s crazy -_-

Dear Tristan, you should already distance yourself, he don’t love you anymore, he is just using you, more like treating you as his shadow.

  17. Aren’t you gonna defend yourself, Gaspar? Because I think your “beloved” would not defend nor help you anymore ☺️
