99% of mangas that are about returning to the past, the mcs don’t actually re-cultivate to their former strength. they only focus on changing relationships and saving important people who end up dying. they almost never focus on themselves first.
ngl the mc is kinda of an hypocrite, the demon lord was defeated, and just cuz his family and friends (and himself) died he wanted to gamble it all for a better future???, i mean i know he has his reasons and he’s taking all the “good choices” but if you take the pragmatic approach, it would be better to have a harsh but good ending than to just gamble it all and get either a better ending or a bad one
