Penelope Eckart reincarnated as the adopted daughter of Duke Eckart
and the villainess of a reverse harem dating sim. The problem is,
she entered the game at its hardest difficulty, and no matter what she does, death awaits her at every ending! Before the “real daughter” of Duke Eckart appears, she must choose one of the male leads and reach a happy ending in order to survive. But the two brothers always pick a fight with her over every little thing, as well as a crazy crown prince, whose routes all lead to death. There’s even a magician who’s enamoured with the female lead, and a loyal slave knight! But somehow, the favourability meters of the male leads increase the more she crosses the line with them!
This is Penelope’s survival story, who’s been dropped in an insane reverse harem dating sim!
I appreciate the effort for uploading long chapters even though it takes about a week or so unlike the other manhwas i used to read who didnt even bother to finish their work before leaving other readers hanging i rea~lly apprecate your efforts so much!! Thank you!!! I hope you guys keep up the good work❤️❤️🥰
I don’t think I have been heavily invested in a story that I just stumbled across just to kill time in such a long time. Deserving of an 9/10 with how engaging the story is. It’s mainly because I could relate to the main character and all the other love interests.
One common theme that I see in this, and is really interesting to see, is the tendency for the main character to guilt trip people, mainly her families, because she already accepted that her life is miserable. And due to her bad personality of always seeking to self depreciate herself and wanting to suffer living under the same roof as her parents whom she treated like criminals (even if that’s not their intention), her family always misunderstood her, in both fiction and in her own world, they just accepted that she hates their guts and they should be treating each other like strangers.
Which is what her current family situation is in the real world, while the “game world” itself felt like it’s trying to teach her that what she’s lacking in trust and understanding of other’s feelings and emotions, or even their act of wanting forgiveness, isn’t poison.
In a sense, since the life of the villainess mirrors her actual self (but more violent in the past), it’s like she’s getting a valuable lesson here by some entity that caused her to be in the game world, using “death” to force her to be more tolerable of other’s company while making sure that the favorability bar doesn’t drops too much (this isn’t the case with real life so the favorability with her actual parents is probably always a negative).
This is not to say that her family was mistreating her. She literally did it to herself knowing that they have been trying so hard to give her all the chances to be a normal family again, but she rejected them because she deemed it to be “too late” and would much prefer to be save by anyone else but them.
She’s the type of character that if she had any past grudges or grudge against you, she will hate you for life and want to distance herself as far away as possible once she finally has her independence.
It’s a mix of the main character being dense, unforgiving, intentionally pitiful, revengeful, and sometimes heartless that makes the favorability bar goes up most of the time in the story where most readers were probably like, “wtf? how?”; to which I say, the fact that everybody in this story apart from the main character are good nature at heart, smart enough to be able to tell if the sudden personality change of the protagonist was for positive or worse, and is guilty about misunderstanding her as a person when pointed out makes for an interesting read.
It’s worth noting that they all treated her like animals because the villainess was exactly that, she was a victim of being misunderstood by others and ended up acting irrational from a few instances of being wrongfully framed or accused by her brothers. Even her servant treat her exactly like that, an uncivilized, crazed lowly noble-blooded. So there’s an endless material to guilt trip everyone in this story, assuming that everybody who mistreated her was actually good nature at heart.
